Erin Health exists because headache disorders are common, disabling, and badly served, and because the people living with them deserve better than a five-minute appointment and a leaflet.
Why Erin exists
Headache disorders affect a vast number of people, yet the path to a confident diagnosis is often long, fragmented and exhausting. People are passed between clinicians, asked to retell their story each time, and frequently left without a clear name for what they experience, let alone a plan.
We think that's a solvable problem. Not by replacing clinicians, but by giving them better signal, and by giving patients a system that listens, remembers, and keeps working between appointments.
How we're built
Erin is a specialist service combining a guided intake that reads as a conversation, curated, personalised review of every assessment, and dual outputs: a plain-language summary for you and a structured SOAP note for your clinician, delivered over a secure record where licensed.
We are working towards Class IIa Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) classification and CE marking under the EU Medical Device Regulation. Erin is not yet a certified medical device; until certification is complete we hold ourselves to medical-device standards voluntarily, and we build for accessibility and EU multi-country care from the start.
Why I couldn't leave this alone
The patients who stayed with me were never the ones with the worst pain. They were the ones who had quietly stopped expecting help.
I'm an osteopath and researcher, and I watched the same story repeat for years. By the time someone with a headache disorder sat in front of me, they had usually been in the system a long time. Retelling their history to every new face. A ten-minute appointment, a prescription, and almost nothing about how to take it, what should happen next, or what to do when symptoms don't respond. The cruel part is that the help mostly doesexist. What's broken is access to it, and nobody teaches you to advocate for yourself inside a system that has no time to listen.
Watching people become resigned to that, concluding that no one was coming, is what Erin Health is built against. A service that listens first, remembers everything, and carries your story between appointments so you never have to be your own messenger. Every assessment has a specialist's review behind it. It's named for the Irish word for peace, because that's the outcome I care about: not another app, but a calmer road to being understood.
